I cannot believe 2017 is over….. Where, oh where, did the time go?! I can remember writing my New Year’s resolution post (Welcoming 2017 with Open Arms) this time last year, only it feels like just yesterday.
I do have to say, although the year is coming to a quick close, I have a grateful, full heart for all that 2017 brought me. It may or may not have to do with the fact I married my best friend, experienced the wedding of my dreams, and was blessed with the honeymoon of a lifetime. (Dear 2018, it’s going to be hard to top that.)
To sum it up, when I think back on this past year, a few words come to mind:
Gratitude
Fruition
Growth
Gratitude for the multitude of blessings I’ve been given and for the many challenges and struggles the Lord has carried me through. Fruition in my new marriage and life with Blake, in the community of new friends we’ve been blessed with, and in my efforts to grow my blog and business. Growth in my role as a wife and daughter of Christ.
So, what about you? How would you describe your 2017?
Before moving onto 2018, I want to share my all-time favorite moments from 2017. To kick off, here are some of my favorite wedding memories, including many tears and even more smiles, laughs, and kisses:
And, I can’t forget about the infinite amount of other wonderful memories throughout 2017:

Also, given Treasured Tablespoons is a food/fitness blog, this post wouldn’t be complete without sharing my absolute favorite recipes from 2017:

And, to wrap up, these are my favorite fitness and kitchen finds of the year:
This year was one for the books, to say the least. Wedding after wedding, endless airports and flights, new friends, the start of new traditions, and so much more.
With all that said, I am full of hope, anticipation, and excitement for the next year. I am confident in the Lord’s faithfulness and promises for the future. As we head into the beginning of a new year, I want to share some of my personal goals for 2018, with the hope it will encourage you to write down your own.
- Be mindful about living in the PRESENT
- Read for 30 minutes every day
- Intentionally and selflessly serve others
- Improve mobility and stability
As Blake and I discussed, brainstormed, and determined our goals for the coming year, we created several categories to help us be intentional and specific with each area of our lives. We broke down our goals into the following categories: marital, personal, financial, work, physical, and spiritual.
So, no matter the season of life you’re currently walking through, I hope you take some time to reflect on the past year and plan for the new year. I pray that 2018 is everything you’re hoping for and more!
