Pastel colors, blooming flowers, Spring in the air, and most importantly the resurrection of Jesus Christ. These are just a few of the reasons I just adore Easter time. This season symbolizes a fresh start, new beginnings, and our saved souls.
Mark 16:5-7 says, “As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed. ‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’ ”
Can I get an amen?
Jesus took on the greatest sacrifice of all, death, itself. Why? So that we would be saved from our sins and have the opportunity to spend eternity with our Father in Heaven. Even more so, he defeated death. He put death in it’s place. And just like that..
It is finished.
We live in a blessed generation. We get to know Jesus Christ on a personal level through the Holy Spirit. He guides, protects, comforts, and loves us better than anyone or anything else ever could. This experience is something that anyone living during Jesus’ time on earth did not have the privilege of experiencing. How cool is it that God chose us to receive such an undeserved blessing?
On another note- a food related note, I had every intention of sharing an Easter dessert with y’all this week, but between moving, settling into a new city and job, and the usual chaos of life, I haven’t had the chance to cook or bake much lately. I’m going to do my best to share a yummy Spring dessert soon, so stay tuned!
