Welcome back to my new series, Tried & True, where I share my favorite finds with you!
A couple weeks ago, I shared my first Tried & True post, which y’all seemed to really like. In case you missed it, I reviewed my favorite Kate Spade Apron, the new Peanut Butter Brownie Smash Quest Bar, Purely Elizabeth Grain Free Granola, and Joanna Gaines’ new cookbook, “Magnolia Table.” I’m pretty darn excited about the positive response because this gives me more reason to try more new foods and products (as if I needed one).
Just to clarify, with this new series, my goal is to share my favorite finds that nourish and promote a health-filled body. I want to introduce you to foods that satisfy your tastebuds and digestive system, as well as items that make a healthy lifestyle more convenient.
So, let’s see what’s new!
NadaMoo Ice Cream– One of my favorite times during the week are evenings spent with Blake on the couch, watching Blacklist and eating ice cream. Blacklist + ice cream + Blake = 3 of my favorite things. (Side note: if you haven’t watched Blacklist, you are missing out.) However, y’all know my feelings about dairy at this point. I try to avoid dairy whenever possible (to help reduce inflammation in my body), which means no Blue Bell or Halo Top (unless it’s dairy free) for me! NadaMoo has opened my eyes to a whole new world. You may think I’m joking, but I’m not. In all seriousness, this is the best dairy free ice cream I’ve had. Maybe the best ice cream, period. The ingredients are totally decent, using organic coconut milk as the base and organic agave as sweetener. Sure, I don’t recommend eating a pint every night, but when you have an ice cream craving sneak up on you, reaching for a bowl of NadaMoo is much better than traditional dairy and sugar-filled ice cream. My favorite flavors? Caramel Coldbrew & Cookies, Snickerdoodle Dough, and Cookies ‘N Cream. All are 10/10.
Zevia– I’ve gotten into the habit of enjoying a La Croix every night while cooking dinner. Something about the bubbly water and subtle flavor really make me a happy camper. Until a few weeks ago, when I tried Zevia for the first time. Game changer. I still like La Croix, I do. But, Zevia has so much more flavor since it’s sweetened with stevia. The Ginger Ale is the bomb dot com. It’s great for sipping poolside with ice or making a fancy, gut-friendly drink like this one from Chanelle Cozette. Now, every time Blake and I hang out by the pool, I never leave without Zevia in my new white Rtic tumbler.
Plantain Chips– My cousin participated in the Whole 30 diet in the beginning of the year, which is when I was first introduced to plantain chips. While sharing with me some of her favorite Whole 30-friendly foods, Trader Joe’s Plantain Chips were one of them. So stinking’ good. Crunchy, salty, and guilt-free. I highly recommend the Trader Joe’s brand, but I also really like the Sunrise Plantain Chips at HEB. I linked the Trader Joe’s ones on Amazon because I couldn’t find the Sunrise brand online. From my experience, most of the packaged plantain chips seem to be relatively similar in nutrition an ingredients. Just be sure to look for the type of oil used and aim for coconut oil, palm oil, or olive oil. These chips make for a great snack with salsa, guacamole, hummus, greek yogurt dip, or even all by themselves!
Now, I’m heading to the pool with my refreshing, ice-filled Zevia in hand. Comment below and let me know if there are any products/items you would like to see reviewed!
‘Til next time, folks!
