You know what makes a tasty recipe even better? When it’s packed with superfoods! This granola tastes like nothing short of chocolately goodness and it is SO good for you (win-win!). Loaded with superfoods and nutritious ingredients, and without ANY added sugar, it makes for the perfect snack by itself or you can add it to yogurt for some added crunch.
Forget Superman or Batman, I’m calling superfoods to the rescue!
Cocoa Powder– A low calorie and no sugar powder. It has a decent amount of fiber and contains a healthy dose of magnesium and iron. It is also proven to be a natural endorphin… They say money can’t buy happiness, but chocolate sure can ;).
Oats– A whole grain packed with fiber, protein, and complex carbohydrates. Due to the high fiber content, oats help you stay full longer. They are also known to aid in lowering cholesterol, keeping your gut healthy, and providing a good boost of energy.
Pumpkin Seeds– And you thought pumpkins were just for Halloween? Think again. Pumpkin seeds are full of omega fats, copper, magnesium, and zinc. They can serve as a natural anti-inflammatory and help maintain a healthy prostate.
Almonds– High in healthy fat and low in carbs, almonds are an awesome daily snack to stave off hunger. They are loaded with antioxidants and micro nutrients- almost too many to list, but here are a few: vitamin E, potassium, and phosphorus.
Coconut Oil– My personal favorite. Coconut oil is proven to be a natural anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal. It’s uses and benefits are practically endless! There aren’t many substances that can do wonders internally and externally. Try applying it to your skin and hair, too!
