Nothing says football season quite like chicken wings and beer. Well, maybe pizza, too. But for the purpose of this recipe, we’ll come back to the pizza part later.
Growing up, chicken wings were one of my favorite dishes. Spicy, BBQ, mild, and all the flavors in between. I remember going to the local sports bar and grill my parents and little brother, where we would scarf down an order of half BBQ, half spicy buffalo wings after a soccer game. Extra blue cheese on the side. Yum!
In an nostalgic effort, I’ve been cooking up chicken wings at home for awhile now. After much trial and error, I believe I’ve finally mastered the perfect chicken wing. Let me correct myself, the perfect skinny chicken wing. In my book, that means crispy texture with loads of flavor, minus the greasiness and extra calories.
You may have stumbled across my previous chicken wing recipe, where I boiled the wings before baking. Boiling the chicken wings melts some of the fat off the skin. While this method results in delicious, crispy wings, I’m all about simplifying recipes, making them quicker and easier to make. This recipe does just that, allowing you to spend more time with your friends and family, while you root on your favorite team.
Oh, and don’t forget to whip up a tray of Simple, Easy, and Guilt Free Sweet Potato Fries while you’re at it!
