Raw Brownie Bites are a paleo-approved, no-bake dessert recipe. With some of the most nutritious ingredients around, each bite is a guilt free treat!
Ever since graduating as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, I’ve been on a mission to eat all the nutritious foods. Recently, I’ve been fascinated by medjooled dates and all the nutrients they contain, like fiber, natural sugar, and more (see below for more nutritious facts). Over the last couple weeks, I’ve brainstorming a delicious date recipe to share, and I finally have it! These Raw Brownie Bites are naturally sweet to help curb sugar cravings and filled with antioxidants.
Nutrients in Raw Brownie Bites
Medjooled Dates
Medjooled dates are nature’s dessert, in my opinion. They’re naturally sweet from fructose and make for a great sweetener in baked goods. However, the best part is that these sweet, delicious fruits are actually packed with a healthy dose of fiber. With both soluble and insoluble fiber, dates can help prevent constipation and regulate digestion. Dates are also packed with phytonutrients, like anthocyanins, phenolics, flavonoids, and carotenoids, to boost your immune system, regulate hormones, and reduce inflammation.
Raw Pecans
First and foremost, raw pecans are packed with heart-healthy nutrients, like omegas. But, pecans are also loaded with vitamins and minerals, including manganese and zinc. All of these nutrients are known to protect the heart, reduce oxidative damage, and reduce inflammation, and boost brain function.
Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate is a luxurious, decadent source of magnesium, zinc, and antioxidants. The darker the chocolate, the better. I always look for chocolate products that are free of dairy, soy, and lecithin. Enjoy Life dark chocolate chips and Theo dark chocolate bars (specifically, the sea salt, orange, coconut, and ginger flavors) are my all-time favorites!
How to Make Raw Brownie Bites
All you need to make this recipe is a food processor, a pair of hands, and 4 ingredients. Can you believe it?
Quickly and easily add all 5 ingredients to the food processor and blend until a smooth consistency forms. It takes about 15-20 seconds in my old, small food processor. Once the mixture is smooth, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and slightly wet your hands to prevent sticking. Scoop out about 1 tbs of the mixture and roll into 1″ bites. Set on the parchment paper and repeat. Once all the bites are formed, you can leave as is or gently roll the bites in cacao powder. Let set in the fridge for about 1 hour.
