I’m jumping the gun and going straight to the apple dessert this year, which is very unlike me. Because I love pumpkin season- which is why I can confidently promise pumpkin recipes will be making a frequent appearance on NBK in the coming weeks. I just couldn’t keep this Paleo Apple Crisp recipe a secret much longer. It’s absolutely delicious and perfect for the Fall season! I first made this apple crisp a couple weeks ago and it lasted less than three days. I’ve been craving it ever since. I mean the mouth-watering-kind-of-craving.
Honestly, fruit for dessert usually doesn’t fly with me. I’m a dark chocolate girl, all the way. But, there’s something about warm and buttery cinnamon apples that do the trick. And if you add a scoop of dairy-free vanilla ice cream, it’s game over for me.
I would encourage you to pick up apples at your local farmers market because they are always that much sweeter and tastier (read about additional benefits of farmer’s market shopping, here). And it’s best to use your favorite kind of apples in this Paleo Apple Crisp. Personally, I prefer to use a combination, like Gala and Honey Crisp. What are you favorite kind of apples?
Don’t you worry if your pumpkin-loving-heart is dying for some yummy pumpkin recipes. I’ve got some pumpkin recipes that are oldies, but still goodies, on the blog:
