4th of July is one of my favorite holidays: a healthy dose of sunshine, mouth-watering BBQ and cold drinks, crisp and juicy watermelon, lake trips with the best people, swimsuits all day long. Sign me up for all of it. Not to mention, the celebration of my favorite country!
A red, white, and blue drink just seems necessary on the 4th of July, am I right? However, not only is this recipe festive and color-appropriate, it’s actually packed with some health benefits, too!
What You Need to Make this Very Berry Margarita
Berries
Frozen organic berries still contain most of their nutrient content- primarily, antioxidants and vitamins- making for the perfect immune-booster. Also, they add a little bit of natural sweetness!
Coconut Water
Electrolytes, like potassium, magnesium, and calcium, are key to keeping you hydrated, especially during long days under the sun with alcohol beverages. Coconut water is naturally loaded with electrolytes to help fight dehydration and keep you feeling your best.
Local Honey
Known for fighting environmental allergies, local honey can help keep those sniffles and sneezes at bay during your outdoor festivities. Bonus: honey is loaded with antioxidants, too!
Now, grab your blender and get to blendin. It’s time to celebrate America’s birthday!
Happy 4th of July, friends! I hope you enjoy your festivities, and please, be sure to drink responsibly!
